Haye Stakes Claim to Title with Impressive Display

David Haye
cemented his place as a genuine heavyweight title contender with a spectacular demolition of Monte Barrett in Londons O2
Arena. Barrett hit the canvas five times before being stopped in round number five. Haye was the more cautious of the two in
the first round, happy to play the role of counter puncher. By round number two the fighters had begun to trade punches. A
sweeping left hand by Haye sent Barrett down for the first time in the third. Moments later he was down for a second time,
using the ropes to hoist himself back up. In the fourth Barrett was down again after a good combination from Haye. Then a
massive uppercut had Barrett down and badly hurt with seconds left in the round. He barely beat the count and was lucky to
hear the bell. Haye dramatically went down in the fifth only for it to be ruled a slip. Barrett was penalised a point for
hitting Haye while he was down. The fight came to an end soon afterwards, Haye landing with a left and a massive right to
finish the job. Vitali Klitschko was ringside for the fight and was impressed with what he saw. "I saw a new
