Haven not posted mine yet as it will take a while to think about it. But when choosing your top five can you give your reasons as this should get a good discussion going.

I don`t know why you said Tyson aside. I certainly wouldn`t have in in the top three anyway. He was fantastic in his prime but knockout losses to Douglas, Holyfield, Lewis, Williams and McBride have destroyed his legacy. I think the greatest is big George Foreman and that includes rating him over Ali. He made short work of Frazer and Norton, two fighters Ali lost to. He was over confident in the Rumble in the jungle. If they had of fought again I think Forman would have won. As well he came back a decade later and won the title again! Some man!

Frazer, Foreman, Liston, Holmes and Lewis. From reading some of the other posts I dont think that Lewis will be a popular choice. However he beat everyone around him, that includes Ruddock, Holyfield, Tyson and Klitschko. Bowe ran away from him and he avenged his two defeats in spectacular fashion!

Had a think and here is my top 5 in no particular order. Marciano(49-0) - speaks for itself. Homes(69-6,44KOs),respected by those within boxing( and on this site) but is vastly underrated by the general public.Louis(68-3) - How long was he champ for?? Saw a very good documentary on him and his career. His fight against Braddock showed his class at the time. George Foreman(76-5) - a beast of a man. One of the main reasons Ali is where his he is in boxing is due, in part, to his victory over Foreman. Two time champ over two decades says a lot.Holyfield(42-9)- not a good record by the standards of my other choices but anyone who comes from the cruiserweight division to become four time world champ deserves respect. His first fight against Tyson was a classic. Also had his game on the magadrive back in the day - savage stuff! Finally, Frazier(32-4) - Was a very good fighter but getting dropped by Foreman 6 times in one fight definitely has diminished his status in my book.
