Valuev Robs Holyfield of Title Dream

Two judges had the fight
116-112 and 115-114 with the other scoring it even. The crowd saw it the other way and voiced their displeasure with a chorus
of boos. Holyfield, 46, was bidding to become the oldest and first five-time heavyweight champion. The judges stole that from
him with a very poor decision. It what was an admitedly poor, dull fight. Holyfield was much the busier fighter. He kept to
the outside, slipping in and out throwing combinations. Valuev struggled to keep Holyfield at bay with his jab and was very
inactive throughout the fight. Although obviously very disappointed, Holyfield was gracious in defeat but he thought he had
done enough to win the fight. He said afterwards "I saw it the other way from the judges but I`m not disappointed by my
performance... I don`t think anything was missing. I hit him more times than he hit me". Holyfield said he`ll go back and
think about his future, stating "I thought I had done enough, now I will just have to go home and think about my future".
Valuev paid tribute to Holyfield saying "he was a strong opponent and he made me work very hard for the win". Holyfield
